Sing Me Softly to Sleep

The main post found here, but for those who don't have an invite (if I know you and you'd like one, just ask) here is a sample, the poem I wrote after writing the main post:

Sing Me Softly to Sleep
By Rebecca Cox

Sing me softly now to sleep,
In your heart, please me keep.
Protect me from worldly harm,
Keep me fed, clean, and warm.
Remember I am God's child.
He will help you, Mother mild.
Be patient with my childish ways,
I won't be a child all my days!
I need your love, your tender care.
I need to know you're always there.
So as I lay my eyes to rest,
Hug me tight to your breast.
Say you love me, Mother, do.
Do you know I love you too?
As my breathing gets real deep,
Please.
Sing me softly to sleep.
